Prerequisites

There are several missionary statuses that the Assemblies of God World Missions has available. However, there is only one application and process. The missionary status is determined by the World Missions Executive Committee after a personal interview with the candidate missionary.

  1. There is one basic application process for all seeking a career status with AGWM without prior missionary service. An abbreviated process is available for current Missionary Associates and those desiring to return with former AGWM missionary appointment.

  2. Two consecutive years of experience in a related field. Looking for more experience? The AGWM Missionary Associate program may be your answer.

  3. A college degree is preferred, but not required. Whatever education and training is necessary for your particular field of service stateside is also desirable for missionary service.

  4. Personal debt not to exceed $350 per month.
Please note: Debt exceeding the limit, bankruptcies, and/or collection items will require extra attention, and may cause delays in your processing. Please review the Financial Guidelines.

Specialized Service People with skills in practical pastoral ministry may seek an overseas assignment on a contract basis for one to four years when professional expertise is needed. All levels of ministerial credentials are accepted. Non-credential holders are also accepted but must meet the doctrinal requirements to pursue ministerial credentials.

*Please note:  All candidates and spouses must be U.S. citizens or have a valid Green Card that will allow travel to and from the United States and a valid Green Card "Reentry Permit" that will allow return to the United States after living in another country for an extended amount of time. The purpose of applying for and obtaining a Reentry Permit is to preserve an alien's permanent resident status (Green Card). Green Card holders leaving the United States for a long period of time without obtaining a Reentry Permit may risk losing their Green Cards. There are different requirements that all permanent residents should be aware of when traveling abroad with a Green Card.
