Steve Louchis with Students for Christ
Berlin, Germany
Steve
Louchis is a graduate of UC Davis and an alumni of Chi Alpha Campus
Ministry. After attending the World Mission Summit in 2005 in
Louisville, KY, Steve knew that the Lord was directing him to give a
year to missions serving somewhere in the world. At the Summit, Steve
was invited to Berlin as a Maps Volunteer, assisting Kirk & Amy
Priest in their Chi Alpha ministry. He enrolled in a German language
course to further sharpen his language skills. Steve and another German
student started a Life Group where the students meet weekly for prayer,
fellowship and Bible study in one of their apartments. His friendliness
and willingness to serve has been an asset and an inspiration to the
students involved in the ministry in Berlin. Steve has also been a
vital help to the ministry this year by serving in the Students for
Christ office, as well as cleaning and working in the ministry center.
Steve
has built websites Europe-wide and also for the Student ministry. Steve
has completely rebuilt the local ministry website (www.sfc-berlin.de) from top to bottom and the SFC Europe website (www.sfceurope.org) that serves Assemblies of God campus ministries in over 10 different countries
Steve has been a personal blessing to the Priest family while having the opportunity to sharpen his domestic skills. “Give a year and pray about a lifetime”
was the theme of the World Missions Summit and the challenge that Steve
took up in coming to Germany this year. He truly is living it out and
praying about the next step that the Lord has for him after serving
this year in Berlin.

Jason Bicket
On assignment in Russia (MAPS)
Greetings
from the far eastern city of Khabarovsk, Russia; my name is Jason
Bicket. God has called me to work among the Russian people and the
first step of this journey has brought me to this city as a MAPS
Volunteer. I have lived in the dormitories of a local university for
the last year and will remain for the next five months in order to
continue my studies of the Russian language. These living arrangements
have given me ample opportunities to share the gospel in word and in
deed. For example, last year I was able to start a small English club
for students who wanted to practice their English. Through this club
God gave me the opportunity to communicate why I am here and the
reasons for my faith. Furthermore, my time here is being spent helping
the local protestant churches by helping at a church’s annual kid’s
camp, their homeless ministry, and I even have found time to play drums
in a worship band. In addition, God has me here to assist a fully
appointed AGWM missionary in his calling to minister to this region’s
orphans. Please praise God with me as he continues to show himself
faithful.
