Planning Guide for Missionaries

Information and resources for missionaries hosting short-term missions teams
(MAPS Teams)

All MAPS teams are required to work with an appointed AGWM missionary. All team members must be processed through AGWM or their sponsoring church/organization. It is the missionaries' responsibility to ensure that any team they invite follows through with processing. For more information on AGWM team processing, please click here.

Finances

Most teams will handle their own finances. Documents are provided so they can receive AGWM giving credit for their trip. However, construction teams will need to send in their construction costs to AGWM so the funds can be made available to you.

Organization
Hosting a team does require a considerable amount of planning and organization. You must arrange for housing, ground transportation, food, ministry, fun activities, and team safety, etc.

Cultural Education
Prepare a short document or provide resources that discuss the uniqueness of your community and proper cross-cultural interaction. Emphasize the importance of the team members being properly education prior to arriving in your country.
